About the Project
For this project at Antriva Houses, we created a custom-designed sculpture featuring two children embracing. Our goal was to not only add a visual object to the living space but also to bring a warm and human narrative that evokes genuine emotion in the viewer. We simplified the figures with refined surfaces and soft forms, transitioning them into a modern sculptural language to create a composition that harmonizes with the minimalist interior architecture of the space. Fiberglass material was chosen for its durability and ability to achieve detailed surface craftsmanship. The specially formulated pearlescent white paint application gives the sculpture a soft light reflection, creating a changing luminosity effect at different times of the day. As a result, Antriva Houses gained a unique art object for its living space, one that integrates with the natural light of the room and interprets the themes of family and childhood with a premium aesthetic. 01 — Concept of a Custom Designed Child Sculpture for Antriva Houses
We began the design process by addressing the emotional needs of the space. For the spacious and naturally lit living room of Antriva Houses, a composition symbolizing warm family bonds was conceived: a large child figure holding their younger sibling by the shoulder. The forms were repeatedly revised during the 3D modeling process to optimize the balance of proportion and posture according to the scale of the space; the proportions of the figures' heads, bodies, and limbs were designed to convey a natural sense of movement. Surfaces were deliberately simplified, minimizing details, thus transforming the sculpture into an art object that complements, rather than contradicts, the modern lines of the space. The composition, placed on a round base, was positioned to be viewed from different angles from various points in the living room. This approach is a direct reflection of Evista Design Studio's principle in custom sculpture production: that form speaks with the space, scale is impressive without being exaggerated, and every detail serves a purpose.
02 — Fiberglass Sculpture Production and Pearlescent White Surface Application
Fiberglass material was chosen for the sculpture's production. Fiberglass, known for its lightness and high durability, allows for detailed surface craftsmanship in interior sculptures, enabling precise rendering of curved forms and subtle surface transitions of figures. After mold production, a specially prepared pearlescent white paint was applied to the entire surface of the sculpture. This special painting technique creates a surface character that reflects light softly and in pearly tones, compared to classic matte white, giving the sculpture a vibrant appearance that changes with the light throughout the day. Thanks to handcrafted surface treatments, details such as the folds of the figures' clothing, hair texture, and facial expressions were clearly preserved, while a smooth and premium finish was achieved on the overall surface. This production approach highlights the advantages of fiberglass sculpture production for projects seeking both long-lasting use in interiors and high visual quality.
03 — Integration of the Sculpture with the Antriva Houses Living Space
The sculpture was placed in the naturally lit living room of Antriva Houses, which features high ceilings. With its round base harmonizing with the wooden floor texture of the space, the sculpture, along with the surrounding plants and minimalist interior elements, brought an organic and warm balance to the environment. A positioning that was striking yet not dominating was chosen, making the sculpture a natural focal point of the living room. Its pearlescent white surface contrasted with the neutral color palette of the space, ensuring the sculpture caught the eye from every angle. This project is a concrete example of how custom-designed sculptures can shape the identity and atmosphere of a living space, going beyond mere decorative objects.
